Thanks to our friends from Kickin Grass for helping us put this show together. Unfortunately we had a cancellation & Hank Smith (KG’s fantastic banjo Player) stepped up & did all the work involved on short notice. This band consists of 3/5th Kickin Grasss so we all know it’ll be good!

  Formed from a collective of seasoned Raleigh NC area musicians, The Morning After brings together a wealth of musical expertise to seamlessly blend rock, bluegrass, jazz, funk, latin, classical and beyond. The strong, soulful vocals of Rachel Koontz propels the band forward and energizes the audience. Once you hear it, you'll need to hear it again and again.

The Morning After consists of Rachel Koontz on lead vocals, Hank Smith on banjo guitar & vocals, Mike Rosado on drums, Shawn Chase on mandolin, Pattie Hopkins on fiddle & vocals and Jamie Dawson on bass.

The other members are Shawn Chase on the mandolin, Mike Rosado on drums, and Jamie Dawson on bass. Pattie Hopkins and her fiddle is slated to join the group in the very near future. I really liked the laid back style of the music as well as the wide spectrum of instruments. The different sounds complemented each other in spite of (or maybe because of) the differences in instruments and styles. "
